Read Up Stop the Summer Slide is a program of The Children's Reading Foundation

Summer learning loss is a real problem with a simple solution. The READ Up program, encourages children to continue to read throughout the summer months in an effort to avoid summer time reading loss.

We partner with local organizations to provide literacy-based summer activities for children.

Our summer reading program featured below provides free books to children and models reading aloud.

Our READ Up program can help support your organization's summer reading program with FREE BOOKS!

Our McDonald's Summer Reading Program features story times throughout the summer at participating McDonald's locations.

This program begins in June and is supported by our friends at McDonald's as well as a grant from the Three Rivers Community Foundation, which provided $500 to fund the literacy activity throughout the summer. Come join the fun! Children receive a free book for attending!
