READY! for Kindergarten a Program of The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia

READY! for Kindergarten

Our READY! for Kindergarten workshops are free to Kennewick parents and caregivers with children birth to age 5.  These workshops demonstrate how to play with a purpose while preparing your child for kindergarten and future school success.

Parents or caregivers attend a series of READY! for Kindergarten workshops each year, based on their child’s age. Participants learn new skills and helpful tips to nurture a child’s development in ways that foster early literacy, language, math and social-emotional skills.

The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia partners with Columbia-Center-Rotary on the Columbia Center Rotary Book Baskets Program

Columbia Center Rotary Book Baskets

We have partnered with the Columbia Center Rotary Club to place over 250 book baskets in our community’s waiting rooms, restaurants, and other locations children might accompany their parents and guardians when they run errands. Books offer children and enjoyable outlet and give families an opportunity to read together while they wait at an area of business.

The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia partners with Mission-Support-Alliance

Books for Babies

Babies learn every waking minute from birth and reading with them is the best way to help stimulate their learning.  Through our Books for Babies program, we provide a new board book and early reading information to the parents of every child born in our local hospitals.

Mission Support Alliance is the proud sponsor of this program. Participating hospitals include Trios Health in Kennewick and Kadlec Regional Medical Center is Richland. For more information on Books for Babies, call (509) 222-7323 or e-mail us at info@read20minutes.com.
